MAJOR SCAM AT MULTAN’S BURN CENTRE: OFFICIALS IN TROUBLE OVER MISSING MEDICINES

A massive medicine theft shocked the officials as the medicine worth 15.7 million was being stolen in May 2025. These are the essential medicines for the Pak-itilain burn center at Nishter Hospital Mutan.

After reporting, the government of Punjab and the chief minister ordered the authority to launch an inquiry and take strict action against the accused. This inquiry is led by the Sargodha Division Commissioner Jahanzaib Awan and Special Secretary, SHC&ME Department, South Punjab, as a member to look after the case.

During the initial investigation, it was proven that officials failed to maintain the proper documentation and were responsible for this act. 

The investigation authority has suggested major penalties such as removal and suspension from the service, and also recovery of the medicine or money. 6 officials are included in this theft.

The government and the inquiry team have approved strict action against the official. Dr. Syed ali is held responsible for the negligence, including a reduction of service by three years and recovery of 1923 million. Moreover, they are held accountable for not installing the CCTV cameras and collaborating with the person who stole the medicines.

There are 5 other persons, including Storekeeper Shoaib Hassan and five others — security guards Muhammad Naeem, Imran Ali, Syed Farhan Ali, Liaqat Shah, and electrical helper Amir Ahmad, all have been dismissed from the service.

This thing signifies government efforts for accountability in the field of health care and also ensures that the public gets relief in government hospitals.
