Pakistan Imported Smart Phones Worth Rs. 33 Billion in August

Pakistan’s mobile phone imports crossed Rs. 32.7 billion in August 2023, as per the most recent information delivered by the Pakistan Agency of Measurements (PBS).

As per PBS information, the imports in August 2023 were 71 percent higher than imports of Rs. 19.1 billion enrolled in the earlier month for example July 2023.

The expansion in imports was a lot higher than the imports around the same time of the past monetary year (FY24), going up by 135% contrasted with imports of Rs. 13.9 billion in August 2022.

In dollar terms, the imports in August remained at $111.34 million, up 63 percent contrasted with July 2023 and 76 percent contrasted with August 2022.

The imports during the initial two months of the ongoing financial year for example July and August came in at Rs. 51.85 billion, up 131 percent contrasted with imports of Rs. 22.44 billion enrolled in a similar time of the past monetary year.

In dollar terms, the imports in July-August 2023 remained at $179.47 million, up 76 percent contrasted with imports of $101.86 million enlisted in a similar time of the past financial year
