Lahore Qalandars won the toss and decided to bat first, Lahore Qalandars managed to put up a respectable score of 226 runs on the board. However, the score was not enough to feel confident about the result, and the team knew that they needed to bowl and field exceptionally well to defend it.
Speaking after the match, Afridi said, “We pretended we were defending 130, and that mindset helped us execute our plans perfectly. We knew we had a modest score on the board, but we also knew that we had the bowling firepower to defend it. I am glad that I was able to contribute to the team’s victory.”
In the end, Lahore Qalandars managed to restrict Islamabad United to just 107 runs, securing a 119 run victory. Afridi finished the match with 18 runs and no wicket, and his contribution was instrumental in his team’s success. it also cemented his position as one of the best bowlers in the PSL.
