China’s Tesla EV Rival Wants to Invest in Pakistan’s Auto Industry.

Representatives from China’s BYD Company, including Cai Xiao Xu and Lei Jian, met with Dr. Sohail Rajput, the Secretary of Pakistan’s Board of Investment (BOI). During the meeting, BYD showed a strong interest in investing in Pakistan’s electric vehicle (EV) sector.

BYD, a big company globally known for making electric vehicles, is exploring opportunities in Pakistan across various industries like cars, public transportation, clean energy, and electronics.

Currently, the BYD team is in Pakistan on a fact-finding mission facilitated by BOI, having important discussions with potential local partners. The BOI Secretary welcomed BYD’s interest, stressing the importance of electric vehicles in Pakistan, and assured the Chinese delegation of the Pakistani government’s commitment to making it easy for foreign investors.
