FIGHTING THE SILENT KILLER: WORLD HYPERTENSION DAY PUTS FOCUS ON HIGH BLOOD PRESSURE
May 17, 2025, today World Hypertension Day is celebrated all across the globe. Every year, May 17 World Hypertension Day is celebrated to raise awareness the people about this silent killer that destroys their health, resulting in a shorter life span.
High blood pressure is affecting people all over the world. It’s one of the causes of heart disease, kidney failure, and other fatal diseases.
World Hypertension Day is an initiative to raise awareness about its dangerous effects and encourage people to check their blood pressure regularly so that they can save themselves from the harmful effects caused by hypertension.
In Pakistan, people also observed World Hypertension Day. In Pakistan, one in four individuals over the age of 40 is a victim of hypertension.
The main reasons for hypertension the stress, high workload, and obesity. People may suffer death due to increasing blood pressure, heart failure, or rupture of the brain’s veins in extreme cases.
It’s not something that can’t be prevented. We can simply prevent it by taking high-nutrient food like fruits and vegetables, minimizing the intake of high-salt foodsand oily things. Moreover, regular exercise and meditation also reduce the risk of hypertension.
