Saudi Arabia Plans to Build the World’s Only Stadium on a Really High Cliff with a Roof, Field, and LED Wall that Can Move.
Qiddiya Investment Company (QIC) in Saudi Arabia has revealed the Prince Mohammed bin Salman Stadium, an advanced facility located in Qiddiya City, just a 40-minute drive from Riyadh. Positioned atop the 200m-high Tuwaiq cliff, this futuristic stadium is designed to host significant sports, entertainment, and cultural events.
What distinguishes the Prince Mohammed bin Salman Stadium is its unique status as the world’s first fully integrated venue, featuring a distinctive combination of a retractable roof, pitch, and LED wall.
This architectural innovation offers unparalleled flexibility, enabling the venue to quickly switch between different “event modes” within hours. The LED wall serves as a dynamic gateway to live event broadcasts, high-definition films, and captivating laser shows, promising visitors an exceptional and immersive experience.
Beyond its practical features, the stadium’s design aims to transform the conventional stadium experience by providing stunning views of Qiddiya City when the LED wall is not in use.
Abdullah bin Nasser Aldawood, QIC’s Managing Director, envisions the venue as a global hub for entertainment, sports, and culture, embodying the essence of Qiddiya’s Power of Play philosophy.
The stadium is expected to attract visitors from around the globe and become a renowned destination for major events.
