“Shahid Afridi Commends Shaheen’s Stellar Performance and Anticipates Babar Stepping up to the Challenge to Close out Matches”
Shahid Afridi, the ex-skipper of the Pakistan cricket team, has praised the outstanding bowling performance of his son-in-law, Shaheen Shah Afridi, against Australia. Additionally, he called upon the captain, Babar Azam, to rise to the occasion and excel in pivotal matches.
Afridi lauded Shaheen’s five-wicket achievement and improved bowling accuracy, along with the strong opening partnership between Imam-ul-Haq and Abdullah Shafique.
In the previous game, Pakistan managed to score 305 runs but lost to Australia by 62 runs. Australia had set a challenging target of 368 runs, largely thanks to a remarkable 259-run partnership between David Warner and Mitchell Marsh.
Afridi expressed his thoughts on social media, saying, “Shaheen Afridi showed improved skills in his bowling, taking an impressive 5-wicket haul. The opening partnership by Imam-ul-Haq and Abdullah Shafique was great. Although the team couldn’t secure a victory, I have high hopes for Babar Azam to showcase his world-class finishing abilities in the Cricket World Cup.”
