The launch date of the budget-friendly OnePlus 12R has been disclosed ahead of schedule.

While much attention has been directed towards the impending release of the OnePlus 12, it’s crucial not to overlook another upcoming smartphone from OnePlus – the OnePlus 12R.

Expected to make its global debut alongside the OnePlus 12 in January, the most recent leaked specifications, courtesy of the reliable tipster Max Jambor, are now accessible.

Reportedly, the OnePlus 12R will feature a curved 6.78-inch LTPO 4.0 OLED display with an adaptive refresh rate ranging from 1Hz to 120Hz, all protected by Gorilla Glass Victus 2 for enhanced durability.

Under the hood, the device will be powered by last year’s flagship Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset, accompanied by a generous configuration of up to 16 GB LPDDR5X RAM and 256 GB of speedy UFS 4.0 storage.

Additionally, the recently surfaced leak reveals the phone’s camera setup, comprising a 50MP primary camera with an IMX890 sensor, an 8MP ultrawide lens, and a 2MP macro lens to cater to diverse photography needs. To ensure ample power, the OnePlus 12R will house a robust 5,500 mAh battery capable of supporting blazing-fast 100W charging.

For those with an appreciation for aesthetics, the OnePlus 12R will be available in sophisticated Iron Gray and stylish Cool Blue color options. The device is set for its initial launch in China on January 4, while the global debut will align with the worldwide release of the OnePlus 12 on January 23.

The OnePlus 12 currently faces build quality issues, with several users highlighting a concerning gap between the camera island and the phone’s frame. Although not present in every OnePlus 12 device, it is hoped that this problem is addressed in both the OnePlus 12R and the global release of the OnePlus 12.
