Amir’s options for Pakistan amid Asia Cup

Tensions between Pakistan and India over the Asia Cup continue to escalate, with both parties refusing to back down. While Pakistan maintains a fair stance, India’s position is less certain, intensifying the dispute with each passing day.

Muhammad Amir, the former cricketer, shared his views on the ongoing fiasco regarding the World Cup. He proposed two options: either Pakistan agrees to play the World Cup in India, or if they refuse, allow the national players to participate in other events during that time window.

Amir suggests that if the board decides to go to India for the World Cup, they should play the Asia Cup at any venue without any options. However, if the board decides not to participate in the World Cup, they should allow players to choose their own commitments during that time, such as playing in CPL or The Hundred. This would enable players to fulfill their county contracts and have the freedom to play without strict national commitments.
BCCI rejects playing in Pakistan; insists on neutral location for Asia Cup.

PCB adamant about hosting Asia Cup in their territory; threatens to halt efforts for international cricket return.

Pakistan and India, historical arch-rivals, haven’t played each other on home soil since 2012. Fans eagerly await their face-off on the cricket field, but the regrettable absence continues to disappoint.
