Waqar criticized Shaheen Afridi’s self-promotion in Multan match.

Qalandars collapsed for just 76 in chase of Sultans’ 161, led by Rizwan.
Waqar Younis, the former Pakistan pacer, criticized Shaheen Afridi’s decision to promote himself in the batting order during the first playoff match between Qalandars and Multan Sultans at the Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore.

Shaheen Afridi, who is renowned for his bowling skills, has been promoting himself in the batting order consistently in this year’s PSL.
Shaheen Afridi came to bat at number five during the qualifier match when Qalandars were already struggling with a score of 19-3.
During the match, Waqar Younis, who was commentating, expressed his disapproval of Lahore Qalandars skipper’s decision to promote himself in the batting order, calling it “wrong.”

Waqar Younis, the former cricketer turned commentator, criticized Shaheen Afridi’s decision to promote himself in the batting order, stating that it was wrong to do so when proper batters were still available.

According to Waqar Younis, it was poor decision-making for Shaheen Afridi to promote himself in a crucial match when there were proper batters still available. Instead, Waqar suggested that established batsmen like Sikandar Raza should have been sent ahead of Shaheen.

Waqar Younis further added that it was similar to giving a new ball to someone else other than Shaheen Afridi, and it might not have felt good for him. He emphasized that with established batsmen like Sikandar Raza still present in the team, such a decision shouldn’t have been made in a crucial match like this.
