Arbab Niaz Stadium Renamed Imran Khan Cricket Stadium Amid Renovation in Peshawar

The iconic Arbab Niaz Stadium in Peshawar has been officially renamed to Imran Khan Cricket Stadium, aligning with its ongoing renovation and modernization efforts. The new nameplate has been installed, marking a major milestone in the stadium’s transformation.

Originally constructed in 1984 and named after former sports minister Arbab Niaz Muhammad, the stadium holds historic significance as the only international cricket venue in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK).

The renaming comes as the stadium gears up for future high-profile cricket events, following a recent inspection by International Cricket Council (ICC) representatives to evaluate its preparedness. The upgraded stadium aims to enhance the region’s role in promoting cricket and strengthening Pakistan’s sports infrastructure.

With modernization underway, the Imran Khan Cricket Stadium is poised to become a key venue for international and domestic cricket, further adding to KPK’s cricketing legacy.
