Punjab Declares Three Weekly Holidays for Educational Institutions
Because of the ongoing smog, the Punjab government decided to close schools on Fridays and Saturdays. This decision, shared by Caretaker CM Punjab, Mohsin Naqvi, is applicable only to certain divisions: Lahore, Gujranwala, Faisalabad, Multan, Sargodha, and Sahiwal.
Caretaker CM Naqvi also mentioned plans to put up air-purifying towers in Lahore. In a big announcement, the government, led by Naqvi, wants to give 10,000 electric bikes to students with discounts. He also talked about the idea of leasing e-bikes to government employees. Regarding markets, the caretaker CM prefers a partial closure, with markets shutting down until 3 PM only on Fridays and Saturdays. However, all markets will be completely closed every Sunday.
Restaurants won’t be allowed to open before 3 PM on Fridays and Saturdays. Also, to deal with smog, only cyclists can use Mall Road from morning until 5 PM every Sunday.
Caretaker CM Naqvi emphasized how important it is for everyone to wear masks regularly as per the government’s instructions. He urged everyone to follow these rules.
