“Babar Azam expressed disappointment over our performance against India.”

Babar Azam, the captain of Pakistan’s cricket team, openly discussed Pakistan’s disappointing loss to India in the 2023 World Cup. He acknowledged that Pakistan’s performance didn’t meet expectations, particularly their score of 191 runs, which triggered a significant collapse in their batting lineup.

On the other side, India, under the captaincy of Rohit Sharma, demonstrated an impressive display with Sharma scoring 86 runs off 63 balls. They comfortably reached the target of 192 runs. This loss marked India’s eighth victory over Pakistan in World Cup history, maintaining their unbeaten record against Pakistan in ODI World Cups. Pakistan’s bowlers also faced criticism for their inability to effectively defend the low target.

India’s triumph propelled them to the top of the ICC World Cup 2023 points table with a flawless record of three wins in as many matches and an impressive net run rate of 1.821. In contrast, Pakistan found themselves in the fourth position with a negative net run rate of -0.137. They are now preparing to take on Australia in their next World Cup match scheduled for October 20.
