Misbah Proposes One Change in Pakistan team After losing against India

Following Pakistan’s seven-wicket loss to India in the ICC World Cup 2023 match at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, former Pakistani captain Misbah ul Haq has suggested a change in the Pakistan cricket team’s lineup.

The defeat has sparked inquiries, with fans now calling for modifications, particularly regarding players like Shadab Khan, who has consistently delivered subpar performances. Even before the World Cup began, there were concerns about Shadab’s selection due to his lackluster performance in the Asia Cup 2023.

However, Captain Babar Azam assured Zaka Ashraf, Chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Management Committee, that Shadab would be excluded if his performance didn’t improve.

Misbah specifically addressed Pakistan’s spin department, including Mohammad Nawaz and Shadab Khan, and advocated for the inclusion of Usama Mir in the team, potentially replacing Shadab.

Given their current position in the tournament, Misbah stressed that each forthcoming match for Pakistan is a must-win situation.

In the game, Rohit Sharma played a crucial role in India’s victory, helping them secure the top spot in the ICC World Cup points table with an impressive run rate. Rohit scored 86 runs from 63 balls, including 12 boundaries, contributing to India’s eighth World Cup victory over Pakistan.

During their innings, Pakistan faced a significant collapse, posting a total of 191 runs and losing eight wickets for just 36 runs in 12.5 overs.
